Generational Legacy: Further Resources

This past Sunday, we gathered as one church for our Family Service and talked about one of our core values – Generational Legacy. We took a look at what it tangibly means for all of us to invest the “good deposit” of the Gospel into the kids in our families and our church. You can listen to Sunday’s message here.

It is our desire as a church to come alongside families to support them in the critical role of family discipleship. Below are some recommended resources for you to check out, no matter what stage of life you are in.

Recommended Resources:

Shepherding a Child’s Heart

Intentional Parenting: Family Discipleship by Design
By Tad Thompson

The Big Picture and a Simple Plan: That’s what you need to do family discipleship well. There are literally thousands of books available on how to live various aspects of the Christian life. Of these, at least a couple of dozen pertaining to family life and child training are well worth reading. This is not one of those books. This book is designed to help you take what you have read, as well as all the sermons, teachings, and exhortations you have received on child training and leadership in the home, and make sense of it.

The Jesus Storybook Bible

The Jesus Storybook Bible tells the Story beneath all the stories in the Bible. At the center of the Story is a baby, the child upon whom everything will depend. Every story whispers his name. From Noah to Moses to the great King David—every story points to him. The Jesus Storybook Bible invites children to join in the greatest of all adventures, to discover for themselves that Jesus is at the center of God’s great story of salvation—and at the center of their Story too.

Biblical Grandparenting
By Josh Mulvihill

What is the role of a grandparent? While the world tells you its time to retire and relax, you have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of your grandchildren and leave a lasting heritage for your family that will bless generations to come. Biblical Grandparenting explains culture’s misleading messages about grandparenting, provides a biblical overview of the role of grandparents, and shares groundbreaking research that will give you a vision to impact the next generation for Christ.

Women’s Retreat :: Recorded Teachings

This year’s women’s retreat was full of solid teaching, genuine conversations and deepening community for the ladies of Crossway Chapel, and Redemption in particular. THANK you to all who came, thank you to those who served, and thank you to the sound superstars who thought ahead and recorded each teaching session for us to keep learning from!

Many ladies asked if the messages would be available to listen to later, and I’m happy to say “YES!” Here they are:

The Surpassing Worth Of Knowing Jesus :: Crossway Chapel Women’s Retreat Teachings

Pass them along, listen 10 more times, they’re each that good!

“But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ” -Philippians 3:7-8

Fear is something we all deal with in different ways. But God’s Word is packed with hope-filled truth to help us face our fears with faith.  His love, faithfulness, and goodness are unchanging, and He will never forsake His children.

You can listen to Matt’s messages from each of our four-part series here.

Here Welch offers biblical insight and solutions for a pervasive weakness in today’s church.
